I design and produce ceramic homeware with a focus on timeless, functional pieces for wholesale retail and brick-and-mortar shops. I work exclusively with terracotta, tin glaze, and coloured slips, with every collection beginning in my sketchbook. I oversee the full process in my studio, from making plaster moulds and mixing casting slip to developing glazes and decorative finishes.

I completed an MDes in Ceramics and Visual Research at the University of Brighton in 2012. From 2015–2017, I worked as a ceramics technician at the University of Brighton, specialising in hand-building, slip casting, mould making, and surface decoration.

My work has been recognised with awards including the Elle Decoration Design Awards in 2016 and New Designers One Year On in 2013. In 2019, I was awarded a grant from the Government of Kuwait and World Crafts Council Europe to represent the UK at Kuwait Craft Week.

In 2023, I collaborated with Habitat and a Portuguese artisan factory to create a ceramic homeware collection for Habitat’s 60th Anniversary Collection.

My collections have been stocked by retailers including The Conran Shop, The New Craftsmen, Heal's, March, Malmstenbutiken, Artek, Bongénie Grieder, Le Bon Marché, Provide, Stahl + Band, and IDÉE. I also work with interior designers on bespoke and small-batch commissions. Occasionally, I collaborate with restaurants and run small ceramic workshops from my studio.

My name is Silvia Kamodyová, a Slovak ceramic designer based in Brighton, UK, where I founded my studio in 2012. All pieces are made in my studio, where quality and durability come first. I create handmade ceramics with a focus on colour, function, and originality, rooted in timeless design.
